Standardized Operating Procedures
Posted pursuant to New York Real Property Law §442-H
New York law requires real estate brokerages to publish their standardized operating procedures for prospective homebuyers. These are the procedures of RE/MAX Integrity Leaders:
Do prospective clients need to show identification?
No. We do not require prospective buyer clients or customers to show identification before working with us or viewing a property. Photo identification may be requested where a seller or property owner requires it for entry, or as a safety measure at certain showings — and in those cases the requirement is applied uniformly to everyone.
Is an exclusive broker agreement required?
No. We do not require a prospective buyer to sign an exclusive brokerage agreement as a condition of touring or being shown properties. Written agency agreements are entered into when required by law or when both parties choose to formalize the relationship.
Is a pre-approval for a mortgage loan required?
No. We do not require mortgage pre-approval or proof of funds before showing properties. A seller may set their own requirements for offers or private showings; where that occurs, the seller's requirement is communicated and applied uniformly to all prospective buyers.
